Bay Ready Mix Announces Publication of Its Environmental Product Declarations (EPD)
Baltimore, Maryland- April 5, 2023 Bay Ready Mix, a leading supplier of Ready Mixed Concrete in the Mid-Atlantic, announces the publication of its Type III Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for all of its Ready Mixed Concrete designs. An EPD, verified by an independent third party, provides comprehensive information on the environmental impact of the components in the concrete prepared by Bay Ready Mix.
The declaration includes data on the environmental impact of the production, transportation, and manufacturing of ready mix concrete prepared at Bay Ready Mix’s Maryland plants in Baltimore (Curtis Bay) and Annapolis Junction. This information can be used by architects, engineers, and builders to make informed decisions about choosing more sustainable construction materials for their Maryland-based projects.
Since its founding Bay Ready Mix has been committed to more sustainable concrete:
- Using CarbonCure to sequester CO2 in each yard of concrete
- Choosing recycled, local, and lower CO2 materials
- Optimizing mix designs
- Early adoption of Portland limestone cement
- Focus on recycling and reuse of process water and waste
Now with the publication of the EPDs for its all of its ready mix designs including DOT and high-strength mixes further demonstrates Bay Ready Mix’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and providing sustainable solutions to its customers.
“We are proud to be able to provide our customers with transparent and comprehensive information on the environmental impact of our ready mix concrete”, said Bay Ready Mix Vice President Troy King. “Publishing EPDs is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and our desire to provide our customers with the tools they need to make informed decisions about the construction products they use.”
Bay Ready Mix’s EPD is available through its salespeople, on its website: www.bayreadymix.com (under contractor certifications) and on the EC3 tool. The company invites customers, partners, and industry professionals to review our EPDs and learn more about our commitment to sustainability.
