Diverse Business Mentorship Program

Dr. Aaron Fisher | January 14, 2025

Ernest Maier has been a stalwart of the Mid-Atlantic construction ecosystem. Over 100 years in the masonry, concrete, and distribution business has well positioned us to support others. To foster the next 100 years—Ernest Maier is proud to announce it is launching a Diverse Business Mentorship Program.

Encouraging and supporting the broader construction ecosystem, means nurturing a diverse set of voices and experiences. Construction is an easy industry to get into, but not all have a strong business background. This program seeks to aid those in need of this kind of help.

Informally we have helped an array of construction businesses navigate the challenges of starting up and growing to regular profitability. This effort seeks to pull these resources into a single program.

Key Support includes:

  • Business Advice: Our staff engages in an open-door policy, and often have experience running their own enterprises.
  • Store Credit: Key to operating a business is developing cash flow.
  • Networking and Connections: 100-years of experience means we know not only the construction voices, but the broader support ecosystem from banks to fork lift mechanics

Brendan Quinn, CEO of Ernest Maier, notes that it’s in his DNA to advise folks. As he frequently notes, “my idea of open door policy means having no doors on my office.”

The first cohort is headlined by Buenos Dias Concreto. It’s President, Jeanette Ayala has this to say about being selected: “it is exciting that Ernest Maier is supporting my dream. I am passionate about hardscaping, and see this as an opportunity to open more doors for myself and the Latin community”
